The mission of our school is: to make a quality, Christ-centered education affordable for Philadelphia residents.  We are committed to serving families who might not traditionally be able to afford a private school education.  We do not have a faith requirement for parents or children.  So, we are looking for teachers who will…

  • proclaim good news to children and parents
  • successfully engage students growing up in an urban setting, many in working-class poor neighborhoods
  • see this position as a ministry, not just a job

The vision of our school is: to equip students in our Philadelphia neighborhoods for life by educating their minds, nurturing their hearts and preparing their hands with practical life skills.  Therefore, we are looking for teachers who can help us fulfill that vision by…

  • providing academic instruction that meets a variety of educational needs (head)
  • being a role model of what it means to walk closely with Christ (heart)
  • training children with the skills they will need for a life of service (hands)

Olney Christian School requires that teachers have the following credentials:

1.    The teacher affirms that they are a born-again Christian, are actively involved in a church body and agree with the Olney Christian School statement of faith and philosophy of education.

2.    The teacher has experience with children who live in an urban setting.

3.    The teacher holds a BA or MA in Education or BA or MA in another field with experience and training in teaching.  If the teacher does not currently hold PA and Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) certification, they agree to pursue obtaining both certifications.

If you find our mission and vision engaging and hold the credentials listed above, we would be delighted to have you complete the above linked applications.
